1st Ladies Annabel Cattermole/ Bryony Bennett Lloyd
1st Boys Tim Riley/ Luke Burywood
The 420 End of Season event was held at Grafham Water Sailing Club over the first chilly weekend of the year. 45 boats attended the event. Saturday morning brought fog which rapidly cleared to reveal a 6-7 knot steadily increasing breeze, that peeked around 13 knots at the end of the day. 4 races were held on the Saturday due to a particularly windy forecast on the Sunday, and the race team not being confident that racing would be possible. As predicted no racing could be held on the Sunday due to an excess of wind.
Annabel Cattermol and Bryony Bennett Lloyd (North M7 Main, J11 Jib and 42S-1 Spinnaker) sailed an impeccable series gaining 2 firsts, a second and a 5th to leave the other teams in their wake, taking the overall trophy and first ladies team. A really impressive performance for a team that have come a long way in the last year.
Meanwhile Tim Riley and Luke Burywood showed improvement all day as they got to grips with the conditions, starting with a 13, then a 6, 2 and a great 1st place to finish the day. This gave the relatively new pairing a 2nd place overall and 1st Mens team.
