North Sails has a very long history of involvement with the J24 class. In face we have been making fast sails for the boat ever since the first boat was built back in 1977. Years on and we are still intimately involved with the class. Our J24 models have been developed by two time World Champion Vince Brun and his team. Utilising a simple 4-setting tuning system the San Diego designs are true all purpose designs. These sails will take you from the lightest drifter ot 25+ knots of wind.

San Diego AP-2 Mainsail

The AP-2 is a flatter sail and this makes it a much easier to sail to trim and set up. A flatter sail can be trimmed tighter before it is oversheeted and this makes the AP-2 easier to use for sailors of all experience levels. The AP-2 comes complete with everything you need, vision and spreader windows, sail numbers, battens, insignia and roll bag.

Genoa (3DL) New!

The 3DL Genoa is modeled after the ‘Newport’ DX-7 Pentex Genoa, this sail is designed for a very wide steering groove and combines all the benefits of North 3D thermo moulding technolgy, resulting in a strong, durable sail that is lighter and faster than any other J/24 Genoa in the world.
The 3DL Genoa comes with, 2 x vision window, tell tail window, luff tell tails, cunningham, tacking line, spreader patch, sail numbers, long roll sail bag.

Aramid Genoa

The San Diego GP-7TW genoa is rounder in the front and straighter in the back (especially in the top of the sail). This makes the groove wider when sailing in waves and also makes the sail depower faster when the sheet is eased slightly as the wind pipes up.

"We used the new San Diego Aramid genoa that I thought was especially fast in the breezy conditions we had. My feeling has always been that the San Diego sails are especially good in a little stronger breeze but I also felt like we could go well in the lighter winds too. " -- Chris Snow, 2009 US National Champion

GP-7K Genoa

The new GP-7 features all the characteristics of our successful GP-5 Genoa with a little bit more shape on the top to improve light - medium air performance. New 3DL Kevlar patches! Benefits include reduced weight, improved durability and efficiency of the sail. The clew patch is lighter and more flexible, which allows the patch to bend and slide around the shrouds when tacking. We have worked hard to maximise the amount of pentex fibre in this sail in order to make it the longest lasting genoa you can buy. More fibre is what makes a sail last longer. The GP-7 comes complete with extra large viewing window, hanks on the luff, leech line, foot line, sail numbers and roll bag.

KW-1 Jib

The KW-1 jib is a tri-radial Dacron jib. The Tri-Radial design of this sail makes it super low stretch which is very important for a sail that will be used in 18-30 knots of wind. The design of the KW-1 jib features a very straight exit which helps ypu keep the boat flat. Ease the sheet 1/2" and the leech of this sail really opens up and depowers! With the KW-1 jib you will find the boat much easier to steer in the big breeze and heavy chop.

FR-2 Spinnaker

The FR-2 spinnaker represents the latest thinking in running spinnaker design, the head has been flattened so that it flies wider, and the centre seam is more upright. The bottom has been refaired so the lower leeches fly more open underneath the middle of the sail. The objective is to make the sail fly more open up and down the luff. The result allows the pole to be flown lower with more projection and a luff that breaks evenly along the entire height of the sail.
