MNB-1 All-Purpose Mainsail $14,154
3DL 850M Carbon/Technora 19600 DPI

The MNB- design has been developed from the original mainsail design to match the new mast tune and max forestay tension. It is more powerful in the head for light conditions and slightly above the minimum class weight but still an All-Purpose design. It is built with 19600 dpi for better shapeholding through the racing seasons due to the Class sail yearly restrictions.

MNi-1 Mainsail $16,121
3Di™ 870M Carbon/Technora 19600 DPI

We developed this new sail based on the MNB-1 using the new North 3Di construction. With 3Di™ technology, we are able to give the sail more modulus for the same weight and more control of headstay sag as the mainsheet load is transferred directly to the boat through the carbon leech yarns. Early trials show this sail to have more flexibility and shapeholding through the wind ranges due to the more efficient 3Di structure.

LMB-1 Light/Medium Headsail $8,495
3DL 850M Carbon/Technora 16800 DPI
Thin Films

This Carbon/Technora sail is a development of our very successful LM mold. We increased the DPI and reduced overall weight of the sail to improve the wind range and durability. The new LMB-1 design is slightly more powerful and has a rounder entry to compensate for the higher forestay tension used now in the Class. We have maximized the sail area by increasing the foot and leech length to maximum Class dimension and allow the clew to be as low as possible. This allows the sail to be sheeted at closer angle for better pointing.

DESIGNED WIND RANGE:
0 - 13 knots true wind speed

LNi-1 Light/Medium Headsail $10,346
3Di™ 870 Carbon/Technora 16800 DPI

By using North 3Di™ technology, the LNi-1 has been engineered to save overall weight and still have a higher modulus than the LMB-1. It is a powerful sail with a wider groove for easier steering in under-powered conditions but still easy to de-power in the upper range by adjusting the "up & down" and sheet tension. We have maximized the sail area by increasing the foot and leech length to maximum Class dimensions and allowing the clew to be as low as possible. This allows the sail to be sheeted at closer angle for better pointing.

DESIGNED WIND RANGE:
0 - 13 knots true wind speed

MHB-1 Medium/Heavy Headsail $8,933

3DL 850M Carbon/Dyneema 19600 DPI

The MHB-1 is a development from our Medium 2010. For 2011, we kept the sail area to a maximum for better performance in the lower range and made the entry rounder and the sail slightly more powerful to compensate for the higher forestay loads used during 2010 in the Class.

DESIGNED WIND RANGE:
12 -19 knots true wind speed

MHi-1 Medium/Heavy Headsail $11,024

3Di 850M Carbon/Dyneema 19600 DPI

The MHi-1 headsail has the same design characteristics of the MHB-1 and has been engineered to have a higher modulus. Early trials have shown that this sail requires less trimming attention in changing conditions and allows you to keep the weight to windward all the time for better stability. In the upper range of the MHi-1 you can easily twist the top batten by easing the sheet and/or the "up & down" control without losing control of the mid leech. This allows for better acceleration without losing pointing ability.

DESIGNED WIND RANGE:
12-20 knots true wind speed

H4A-1 Headsail $5,947

Paneled Construction (per Class Rules) Diax 230/180 HMT

The H4A-1 has been re-designed with an increased overall entry angle and bottom quarter depth to allow a wider steering groove. Leech and foot length have been maximized for max area allowed by the Class.

DESIGNED WIND RANGE:
19+ knots true wind speed

CLASS DOWNWIND

The class allows only three Masthead Spinnakers to be measured in any regatta. Minimum weight is 30 grams/m2. After two years of racing in the Soto 40 Class, we have invested many hours of R&D with our own VWT (Virtual Wind Tunnel). As a result, we have re-designed all our spinnaker inventory, materials and construction to better meet the AWA that the boat sails in for each wind condition.

All North spinnakers are equipped with the following:

FEATURES:
» High Modulus Luff and Leech Cord
» Inked on Sail Numbers
» Gybulator
» Turtle Bag

CODE A1.25-1 $9,137
NorLite 50/60*
SuperLite 50/60

Area: 174.6 Square Meters

APPLICATION:
Optimized for 50-95 degrees true AWA, this sail is radically different than the A1.5 A that we originally developed for this range. Slightly smaller in area and designed to twist more, the A1.25-1 outperforms its predecessor at closer apparent wind angles and develops more acceleration after the gybes, which is something that becomes very important especially in choppy conditions. Very easy to fly by only just adjusting the sheet for puffy conditions when you need to accelerate in the light stuff and sail lower in the puffs for better VMG. In the upper range when you need to sail lower angles, you can ease the sheet and halyard to play the waves and still have a powerful sail.

SPECIALIZED WIND RANGE:
0-10 knots true wind speed

* - Recommended sail cloth

CODE A2-1 $8,658
NorLite 60/50*
AirX 600/700
Area: 180.3 Square Meters

APPLICATION:
The A2-1 has been re-designed for max area, more power and to be easy to fly. Our goal was to have the power to help the boat surfing the waves earlier and give the helmsman the ability to steer the boat with a wider groove and still have a sail that will be easy to trim.

SPECIALIZED WIND RANGE:
10-18 knots true wind speed

* - Recommended sail cloth

CODE A4-1 $8,716
NorLite 70/90*
AirX 700/900

Area: 180.3 Square Meters

APPLICATION:
Designed to keep the boat planning all the time, we modified the previous A4 to achieve this at lower angles. Due to the Class restrictions for sail replacement we have reinforced this sail very carefully to be very durable and still keep it light to perform well in the lower range.

SPECIALIZED WIND RANGE:
16-25 knots true wind speed

* - Recommended sail cloth
