    Etchells Sail Range

North Sails range of Etchells sails are based on proven development and results from our expert international team of sailors. Our detailed tuning guide will enable you the opportunity to exploit the performance potential from your North Sails.

    PC-M MAINSAIL

Our #1 choice of mainsail as developed by Michael Coxon and the North Sails Australia team. Impressive race pedigree. This sail is a good allrounder, but most suited to light - moderate conditions and or bumpy seaway.

Revised for 2008 using North Sails exclusive design program “Spiral”, which allows the designer to create a virtual mould of the sail and optimise the sail shape. We have taken our existing PC which won the 2007 worlds, kept the basic design and removed any irregularities in the shape. The result is our smoothest PC sail yet, making it even faster and easy to trim.

    PC+ MAINSAIL (San Diego design)

We are keeping limited stocks of this Vince Brun San Diego sail, the 2009 world champion design from the USA. This is suited to softer masts such as the Proctor.

    PC-F MAINSAIL (San Diego design)

We are keeping limited stocks of this Vince Brun San Diego sail. This is suited to stiffer masts.

    DC270 LIGHT JIB

Back in our range by popular demand (and powering the 2007 world champ), the DC270 is our light wind weapon and built in minimum class weight cloth. This sail is best from 0-13 knots. The DC270 is made from minimum weight 270gsm cloth and has long/short tab option.

LM-2 LIGHT-MEDIUM JIB (San Diego design)

The LM-2 is a full sail that generates lots of power. We have opened up the lower portion of the leech of this sail to allow it to be trimmed harder as the breeze builds. Very versatile and the extra power suits when sailing in traffic. This sail is best from 0-15 knots. The LM-2 is made from 270gsm cloth and has long/short tab option.

GM-6.5 LIGHT-MEDIUM JIB (San Diego design)

This is the Vince Brun design from the San Diego loft, which was derived from our original GM, and is suited to light to medium conditions, or choppy waters. The actual weight of this sail is 300gsm for durability, and double tabs give the sail a wider range.

    GM-S MEDIUM-HEAVY JIB

Revised for 2008 using North Sails exclusive design program “Spiral” which allows the designer to create a virtual mould of the sail and optimise the sail shape. The result is our smoothest GM model yet, to make it even faster. The actual weight of this sail is 310gsm (7.2oz) for durability, and double tabs give the sail a wider range.

    VMG SPINNAKER (San Diego design)

A narrower minimum girth sail is made from Bainbridge AIRX500. Designed for light air VMG running with the pole forward, the smaller size of this sail makes it fly more easily in lighter wind speeds up to 12 knots true.

    BiRADIAL RUNNER

Especially suited to the windward/leeward Etchells courses, the Biradial is a full size runner that excels in over 10 knots downwind. The Biradial is constructed from 0.5 Superlite or available as option in .75 Superkote for fresh conditions.

Note: We do not recommend that the 0.5oz sail is carried running above 20 knots true, and should never be used reaching.

    FULL RADIAL (San Diego design)

The Full Radial is our true all purpose spinnaker designed by Vince Brun, with conservative mid sized girth for extra stability to assist trimming. This sail is constructed from Bainbridge AIRX 500.
