The R-2 Spinnaker has been the class standard for use as an all-purpose spinnaker for many years. As a sail that has been used to win every World, regional and area championship, the R2 has proven itself as the "speed standard" Lightning sailors worldwide. The radial design makes it a durable sail that will hold its shape on both reaches and runs and, while the R-2 is designed to excel in running and broad reaching, it is also can more than hold its own against outstanding on a tight reach.
