North Sails is the sailmaker of choice on the majority of America’s Cup, Grand Prix, ocean race boats, and Superyachts. North Sails is looking to fill the Production Sailmaker role at our Auckland, New Zealand loft. The Sailmaker works as part of the production team building sails for all types of yachts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Measure, spread, and detail molded sail blanks
• Cut, fabricate, install, and sew materials and parts to sails
• Stick up sail panels
• Assist junior sailmakers through their apprenticeship

Qualification Requirements

• 4 years Sailmaking experience
• Proficient with hand tools
• Able to lift 30kgs. on a regular basis
• An eye for detail
