Matt Smeaton is based in Auckland and is the Superyacht Project Manager for the Pacific. He’s an extremely knowledgeable sailmaker, with over two decades of experience working across a wide range of racing, cruising yachts, and record-breaking sailing teams.  

A familiar face at Superyacht events around the world, he is very hands-on to ensure the highest quality sails and service are provided to our customers – whether they are designing a new yacht, building and installing sails, or servicing and maintaining an existing sail inventory.

Matt’s experience and knowledge of North Sails products and capabilities, combined with an eye for detail, make him an extremely valuable point of contact for both internal teams and customers. Working closely with our sales team, designers, as well as yacht captains and crew, he looks after any sail requests from the yacht and follows up to make sure the work gets done. 

Matt will also be coordinating our superyacht service plan for yachts visiting New Zealand both in the leadup and during the America’s Cup.
