Nick Turney grew up sailing in Toledo, Ohio, sailing out of North Cape Yacht Club. He continued through the Jr. Sailing program racing FJs, 420s, Lasers and Thistles. As a young sailor, Nick had the opportunity to race with several highly respected and decorated sailors around the Midwest in various One Design classes such as the Lightning, Thistle, J/22 and J/24. Shortly after graduating High School, Nick started working for a local sailmaker in Toledo where he learned the skills of sail making. Throughout his sailing career Nick was fortunate enough to have been involved in two World Championships, multiple North American, National, and Midwinter championships, and countless regional events in various One Design classes.

>Nick is currently active in the J/70 class, as well as bigger boat sailing on the West and East coasts.  He is looking forward to helping and providing service to the Midwest sailors and classes.  Some classes include Tartan 10, Thistle, Interlake, Highlander, Lightning, and Jet 14 as well as the local PHRF, ORC, and cruising sailors.
