Staffan is a keen match racer, in 2006 Staffan won the European Championships. He finished third in the World Match Racing Tour and has won five Nordic Match Racing Championships. In 2016 he won silver at the H-boat World Championships and also has around 40 medals from national and international sailing events.

Staffan sails actively in the J/70, Melges 24, 5.5mR, Dragon, H-boat and 606 One Design classes as well as racing in ORC fleets, he is also an active coach. Recently Staffan was appointed the Finnish J-boats representative.
