Tom Dodson is a native Kiwi who first joined North Sails NZ as managing partner back in 1986. In 2019, he brought his wealth of experience (two Olympic Games, numerous America’s Cups, and many other achievements) back to the company, to help continue to grow the highly successful Superyacht segment.  

Tom was a member of Team New Zealand for the 1998 America’s Cup and then joined Southern Spars as President in 2004. Even when he worked elsewhere, he retained his connection with North Sails. “In some ways, I never really left,” Dodson says. “I’ve always supported the company, its products and people.” With so many superyachts coming down to New Zealand for the America’s Cup, he’s excited to contribute his own expertise. “Sailing on boats like Velsheda and Silvertip, I’ve kept up with the latest products. Working with the team at North Sails, we can help clients have the very best sails for whatever sailing they want to do.”
