Bertil began work with North Sails in 2008 as the service and floor manager and is now a sales consultant. Working with a worldwide network of personable, capable people makes his job enjoyable, and selling a product that he believes in 100% makes it easier for him to connect with his clients.

He appreciates that his job allows him to network in Germany and  throughout the world and counts among his accomplishments winning the German ORC championship with a long-time friend in 2010/2011. He’s grateful for the sailmaking knowledge and insights he’s learned from such seasoned professionals as Kent Kristensen and Jan Heinritz. While he’s currently a member of the sales staff, he’s spent his share of stormy nights working the sail repair tent on the waterfront during Kiel Weeks.

In the little spare time available to him, he enjoys cycling, squash and reading a good book. To those wishing to join the ranks of professional sailors, he suggests that they “Stay true to who they are, keep fighting and let’s have a good one…”
