Scott Allan

Scott grew up in the Southern California sailing scene, graduating from USC. His CA career includes two Junior National Snipe Championships, Intercollegiate National Championship, and ICSA Hall of Fame. Along with dinghy sailing, Scott sailed Offshore winning the Transpac Race in a Cal 40 and sailed in the Flying Dutchman class, representing the USA in the Olympics. In college, he worked for sailing legend and North Sails sailmaker, Peter Barrett.

Scott came to Annapolis as a Naval Officer, and coached the USNA Dinghy team. On becoming a civilian, he began his sailmaking career, and started his own successful sailmaking business in 1975, as both a sailmaker and designer. Over the years, he has won numerous events in many classes, including J/24, J/22, Melges 24, and Etchells.  His offshore events span numerous SORC, Annapolis-Newport, Newport to Bermuda, and Chesapeake area races as skipper and crew.

In 2015, Scott joined his company with North Sails Annapolis, and can be reached at the Annapolis Loft.
