Stewart has been sailmaking for 20 years now. Five years ago he left the world of big campaigns and professional sailing to concentrate on operating his North Sails loft in Tasmania, Australia.
15 years prior, Stewart had been a pro sailor and sailmaker for a number of big campaigns including four Volvo Ocean Races , two Americas Cup, and numerous Open 60’s, Maxis, Wally’s, and multihulls, winning two world championships along the way.

Stewart now does a ton of local sailing, coaching, and takes on numerous support roles. He is also part of a mentor group for young sailors and overseas race programs.
