For as long as Dave Lenz can recall, North Sails has been the market leader in sailmaking. Coming to work for the company has given him the chance to work with best technology and people in the industry.

Dave finds creating and seeing a project through from start to finish very rewarding. “Our sport is the most complicated sport in the world, and helping to produce a sail that fits, looks great and helps a team to get the results they want is a challenge. It is very rewarding when it all fits together.”

David has won several European championships in the Mumm 30 and Melges 32. In his latest role as European Design Manager, Dave works with some of the best sailmakers in the industry.

He enjoys most sports, but sailing has always taken priority. Spending time with his family is also very important. Offering tips to youth sailors, he says to “Keep things as simple as possible.It is a complicated sport and easy to miss the most important factors.”
