A four-time US Sailing Team member in the 470 class, Kerry joined North Sails in 1996. The opportunity to put to use skills and knowledge garnered from working with great coaches and watching sailors like Carl Buchan and Ross MacDonald while campaigning that one-design class was too good to pass up.

Since that time, Kerry has become an agent with North Sails, starting his own canvas and sail repair shop in Portland, OR. He enjoys helping his clients get the most out of their boats – whether it means helping them select the proper sails to make their cruising life simpler, or selecting the racing sails that will help bring home a coveted regatta trophy.

He is a veteran of a number of big boat regattas including the Swiftsure, Oregon Offshore, Rum Runner, and Newport to Ensenada Races, and founder of the Columbia River Gorge Association. When asked what advice he would offer youth sailors he says, “Decide what you want to do and be self-guided and self-disciplined. If your goal is to be a good racer then you have to spend time racing Lasers.”
