Gianluca has been a sailmaker since the America’s Cup in San Diego in 1991.

During his time as a sailmaker, he has been involved in four America’s Cup (1992, 1995, 2003, 2007), a Whitbread RTWR (1997 Swedish Match), an Admiral’s Cup team (1995 Italian team), a Volvo Ocean Race and various J Class programs since 2004 (including five seasons on Hanuman as foredeck race crew/onboard sailmaker).

He moved to Palma in 2009 where he joined the North Sails team as a Senior Sailmaker.  Gianluca looks after J Class, One Design and Grand Prix projects (Finn Class, TP, Mini Maxis, CS50), and between 2014 and 2018 he ran the loft floor. He is a certified sail measurer from the ISAF In House Certification program and since 2018, has been in charge of the Procurement and Finance Department at North Sails Palma.
