Mark joined North Sails in 1996 at North Sails in Cape town. His background in sailing began with the South African Junior Sailing where he sailed Optimists and competed in two youth worlds in both the 420 and laser class. From there, he competed in 12 world championships in various class such as Laser, 49er and one design keelboat classes; the highlight being winning the J22 world Championship in 2007. Mark was also the skipper of the Shosholoza South African Americas Cup Challenger in Valencia in 2007. He moved to Palma in 2011 to pursue the Superyacht and Grand prix sail market.

Mark has competed in many Superyacht, Offshore and Grand prix regattas over the past 11 years, as well as suppling sails to these campaigns.

On top of his sailing experience, Mark has 12 years of sailmaking on the loft floor producing sails. With this extensive understanding of sailing and sailmaking including 14 years in sales he shares, “This enables me to be in a strong position to supply sailing teams with the sails they desire, fore-fill their requirements for success on the race coarse and be fully satisfied with the experience.”
