Miklas Schaper joined the North Sails team in October of 2014. He chose North Sails because he believed it to be a great opportunity to start his career. Taking the position also allowed him to work on a vast array of projects from sailing to sales reporting, finance, and marketing. Miklas enjoys his job because it is team oriented and revolves around accomplishing goals together with his coworkers. He enjoys being a part of the worldwide network of great sailors and sailmakers. Dipping his toes into opportunity within North Sails, he has had opportunity within the company ranging from sales, having a main focus on finance, reporting, logistics, and administration. His mentors are his team members who are developing new things, allowing the level of competition to rise, pushing the sport forward.

Miklas competes within the German National Sailing League, being a familiar face at events in Cascais, Portugal. He also competes regularly in offshore championships in Sweden. He enjoys winning but is always proud to be at the top of the scoresheet in the classes he competes within.

His message to all young aspiring sailors is that “They should remain as they are, sail fair and respect others”.
