Luis joined North Sails in 2004 and now works as Sales Manager for the Portugal and Spain lofts. In the past he managed the loft in Malta. He is passionate about his work at North Sails, noting that the research and development put into every sail gives his clients an opportunity to experience the best sailmaking has to offer at all levels: from personnel to product.

He is pleased to have put together a top-notch group of sailmakers to work with at his loft in Cuntis and has, over the years, sailed numerous Copa del Rey regattas and ORC Worlds as either skipper or tactician. Among his friends, co-workers, and and sailing mentors are Manuel Lastra, Juan Meseguer, and Sandro Benigni​. His talents extend far beyond the world of yacht racing. A musician from the age of 6, Luis is also a member of the rock band, the Tutsies.

For younger sailors wishing to turn their hobby into a profession, he offers the following advice: “Take this sport as it is: a sport. So enjoy, have fun. This is the first step to reach your goals.”
