Tom started working with a previous sailmaking company in Palma in 2014, which then merged to become part of North Sails in 2018. Starting as an apprentice on the floor, Tom worked his way through the ranks to manage the Superyacht client base.

“My favorite part of the job is being on the docks enjoying the plethora of characters we have the fortune of dealing with.” he remarks.

Growing up, Tom has fond memories of sailing on his family’s´toilet blue´ catamaran around the Solent, as well as racing toppers, 420s, and anything he was able to have a go at. It wasn’t until 2010, following in the footsteps of his sailing hero, Pete Goss, that he started sailing in single handed offshore races. “I became focused to pursue a career in sailing and in 2011 I became the youngest person to sail around Britain singlehanded. After competing in various offshore races, I moved into sailing the Mini Transat class. I now enjoy sailing on various Maxi yachts and powering around on Superyachts.”

Outside of sailing, you’ll find Tom doing any other activity on the water, particularly kitesurfing. He can also be persuaded to enjoy a beer in the sunshine!
