Tim joined the North Sails team in 2000. “I’d been a sailmaker since 1994. Getting recruited to work for North was like getting called up to the major leagues!”

He has served as Sail Coordinator for many Grand Prix programs including Idler, Rambler, Numbers and Privateer​. He also has multiple wins in the Caribbean 600 and class victories at Key West Race Week, and he is a two-time National Champion in the Shields class.

Tim enjoys helping his clients get the most enjoyment from their boats possible, whether they race or cruise, and he feels that North Sails offers the best tools and products for his customers to realize their objectives.

Tim would tell young aspiring sailors looking to get into big boats to get any ride they can, do any job on the boat and learn as much as possible. One of the biggest reasons for the decline in big boat sailing is the ability for the owners to get regular crew, so there is plenty of opportunity for young sailors that take initiative!
