Sri Lanka is a huge, state-of-the-art, modern facility across eight buildings, with a specialization in building paneled and 3D sails with luff lengths up to 22 meters.

Sri Lanka produces 65% of One Design sails (dacron) and 60% of the custom keelboat market products, as well as a small percentage of 3D products (under 35ft for Offshore One Design).

North Cloth manufacturing operations focus on laminated sail cloth. Six looms produce high modulus woven taffeta components for heavy offshore use. The North Cloth Sri Lanka laminating line is the most advanced in the sail cloth industry.

  • The facility is 100% vertically integrated with complete production from fabric to finished goods
  • State-of-the-art technology, including four 3D molds, five 3Di tape heads, cloth lamination and 11 flat-bed plotters with laser beam and cold blade cutting capability
  • The facility manufacturers over 25,000 sails annually serving above 80% of the total sail units, in addition to accessories and sail bags, as the biggest sail manufacturing facility of the North Sails entity
