A meeting with former North Sails President Gary Weisman in San Francisco in 1999 resulted in Chuck moving to the East Coast to manage the former Cruising Direct division. Since that time, he has worked within the One Design group and is now an integral part of North Sails Offshore One Design.

Chuck enjoys working in the marine industry. The lifestyle suits him and to work for the best and biggest sailmaker in the world is the icing on the cake. To quote Chuck, “I love to be on the water, love the people I work with, and North Sails is the best there is. I am proud to say I work at North Sails.”

Chuck is an active sailor in many classes, from one designs to offshore cruisers, and he has served as Boat of the Year judge for Cruising World/Sailing World for more than a decade.

Asked what advice he would give to young sailors, he says, “Follow your dreams and keep practicing. Nothing is better than time on the water when trying to improve your skills.”
