How long have you been sailing and what classes have you or do you compete in?
I began sailing in Presque Isle Bay at The Erie Yacht Club about 20 years ago. I have raced a variety of boats in the PHRF class locally and all over Lake Erie. I have competed in over a dozen Lake Erie Interclub regattas and ILYA Bayweek regattas. In addition to handicap racing I have raced in the J35, J24, Beneteau 36.7, and the Lightning.
What's your background in the marine industry? What do you like most?
My favorite part of working in the marine industry is the opportunity to meet new people.
What keeps you coming back for more?
Every time I go out on the water there is always something to learn. Every race is a chance to try out a new tactic, teach something new to the crew, and find that new “go fast” setting. I am always that guy on the boat tweaking something, looking for that 1/4-knot gain.
What's your favorite thing about sailing?
I like that sailing is a team sport. It’s really gratifying to work together to win a race. In my career, I have met a lot of great people and look forward to working with North to help meet the needs of even more sailors.
North Sails capped a landmark 2025 Grand Prix season with wins across the Admiral’s Cup, Maxi, TP52, and offshore fleets. Advanced design tools, Helix engineering, and global on-water support defined its evolution from sailmaker to true performance partner.
