CUSTOM PERFORMANCE SAILS FOR BAVARIA BOATS

Bavaria Yachts Sails by North Sails

Few builders have put as many sailors on the water as Bavaria. Known for spacious, straightforward cruisers that deliver a lot of boat for the money, the range from the Bavaria Cruiser 34, Cruiser 37, Cruiser 41, and Cruiser 46 to the newer C38, C42, and C46 is a favourite with families, club sailors, and charter fleets. Whatever the boat is asked to do, the right sails make it easier and more enjoyable.

North Sails builds Bavaria sails to order, matched to your model and the way you sail. The line covers a Bavaria mainsail, Bavaria headsail, genoa, self-tacking jib, and Bavaria spinnaker, with furling options and manageable cloth weights that keep day sailing, weekend cruising, and holiday charters simple. None of that comes at the expense of performance when you want it.

Made to your boat's own measurements, each Bavaria sail fits accurately and stands up to regular, season-long use, whether the boat is privately owned or working in a fleet. The payoff is a cruiser that handles better, points higher, and gives more back every time you take it out.

BAVARIA FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A:

There is no fixed price, because every sail is built to your exact Bavaria specification, from the sail type to the cloth you choose. A Bavaria mainsail for a Cruiser 34 sits at a very different level from a full inventory for a C46. Whether you want to buy Bavaria sails as a one-off replacement or order new Bavaria sails for the whole boat, request a Bavaria sail quote with your model, sailing style and goals, and a North Sails expert will come back to you.

A:

Yes, and they are among the most popular options we build for Bavaria owners. A self-tacking jib makes short-handed and family sailing far easier, and furling mains and genoas let you reef or stow from the cockpit. We shape each one to set well through its range and match it to your existing hardware, so the boat stays simple to sail.

A:

Many owners are surprised by how much difference good sails make. The cloth and shaping fitted as standard on a production boat are built to a price, so a properly designed main and headsail can sharpen handling, add speed, and last longer. On a boat you plan to keep and enjoy, a quality inventory is usually money well spent.

A:

Yes. We work with charter operators as well as private owners, and durability and easy handling matter even more on a busy fleet boat. We can specify hard-wearing cloth and furling-friendly designs that stand up to constant use and a rotating crew, and your local loft can help with servicing to keep the fleet sailing. Ask about fleet requirements when you request a quote.

A:

It depends on how you use the boat. For relaxed coastal cruising and charter use, woven Dacron is tough, forgiving, and good value. If you want better shape-holding for longer, a laminate such as NPL TOUR or 3Di lifts performance while staying easy to handle. Most Bavaria owners cruise, so we usually narrow it to two sensible options. The sail material guide explains the differences.
